Ms. Nora Helmy has more than 20 years of experience in the financial and manufacturing sectors. In December 2020, she founded and served as the Managing Director of NHC Investment and Corporate Finance advisory firm. In March 2021, she got appointed to the Board of Directors of Cairo Leasing Corporation, where she served as a chairperson of the Compliance Committee and a member of the Audit Committee
Ms. Helmy has started her career at the Egyptian Stock Exchange where she was part and parcel of the core team that had the mandate of reviving and institutionalizing the Exchange to become one of the pillars of the Egyptian economy growth story. Ms. Helmy worked in different reputable institutions such as Citigroup, Morgan Stanley-London office, Naeem Investment Banking, Egyptian Steel company, and Juhayna Food Industry company.
Throughout her career, Ms. Helmy was able to raise up millions of US dollars in debt and equity for different projects and funds, provide corporates with credit facilities, structured bonds and hedging instruments, contribute to the establishment of the NILEX stock Exchange through her seat on the Board of Advisory of the exchange, launch and manage the first Egyptian Private Equity Fund (NAEEM Funds for SMEs) and serve on numerous corporate steering committees which provide management oversight over certain key functions at the firm.
Prior to setting up NHC advisory, Ms. Helmy served as the group’s Director of Treasury and Financial Planning of Juhayna Food Industry company; a lead company in the Egyptian food and beverages sector. During her tenure, she has led an aggressive restructuring strategy of the group’s total debts which resulted in a booking of 30 million savings on the company’s P&L account, a more relaxed cash flow and an enhanced cash conversion cycle (CCC).
Ms. Nora Helmy holds a bachelor degree in Economics from Faculty of Economics & Political Science, Cairo University and a Master of Science degree in Economics & Finance from University of Warwick, United Kingdom.
